In the past 10 days, I've spent three at the hospital, first the CT scan. Then the Colonoscopy. Then the confirmation that I have a mass blocking my right colon that needs to be removed A S A P. Could be 1-a ruptured appendix, 2-could be Crohn's disease or 3- could be cancer.
Obviously, this is the first time in my life, I've ever hoped for an appendicitis. I'm confused because I haven't experienced the symptoms that we hear about that come with appendicitis but apparently it's possible and happens occasionally in men.
What I have had is bleeding where I shouldn't be and other irregularities! All things to watch out for I guess.
I haven't learned much about Crohn's disease yet but my Dr. says that would be a much better diagnosis than the third choice.
I'm obviously concerned and can tell you this much. I'm not looking forward to spending 7 days in the hospital next week but even more, I'm not looking forward to being off the air minimally for the next three to four weeks. It appears there isn't much I can do about it.
Here's what I want you to know. The Country music will roll while I'm away. The weather will turn to Spring. Baseball season will start and I'll be checking in as much as I can on my Facebook page. Here's the link. http://tiny.cc/flhwtw Feel free to catch up with me when you can.
Hopefully I'll be back on your radio, SOON!
Oh and one more thing. Let my story inspire you to see a doctor regularly. And, don't postpone your colonoscopy. March is National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. I always have to find a way to promote a good cause!
All the best,
Luv ya- Michael J
